How do I purchased this game?
CFL Football 99 was the very first video game product licensed to the Canadian Football League. Development of this game started in1998 and the game was released in November 1999.
CFL Football 99 will work fine on a low to mid range system provided that system has the required video card. CFL Football 99 does not make use of 3D video technology. This means that while you may have the latest and greatest 3D accelerator graphics card there may not be enough 2D memory to play the game. CFL Football 99 requires a video card with a minimum of 4MB 2D memory. Other requirements are below;
| Minimum | Recommended | |
| CPU | Pentium 150 MMX | Pentium II 250 with MMX |
| RAM | 32MB | 64MB + |
| Video | 4MB 16 million colour graphics card. | 8MB 16 million colour AGP graphics card. |
| Hard Disk | 100MB | 100MB |
| Devices | Mouse & Keyboard | Mouse & Keyboard |
| Sounds | 16bit sound card | SoundBlaster™ Live Sound System |
Due to the large amount of variation in systems and video card technology, please do not email asking if the game will work on your system. There is no way for us to know. Downloading the demo and trying it on your configuration is the best way to tell.
Is
this a licensed product?
Yes, this is a licensed product to both the Canadian Football
League and the CFL Players Association. All team and league
logos and marks and player names are used with permission. Player
names are current as of the end of the 1999 season.
How
was this game created?
The development of this game was done by a very small team.
Wintervalley is comprised of myself and my wife that handles
marketing, sales, and promotion. Some aspects of the game were
contracted to various individuals including the 2D isometric
engine. This graphics engine is based on DirectX 7 from Microsoft
and was created by Phantom Reality Inc. (www.phantomreality.com)
The game was created completely using Visual Basic 6.0. The player sprites were created by modeling in 3D. Other graphics were created in Paint Shop Pro 5.0.
Does this game include career mode?
The game provides two styles of play. Quick play and League play.
Quick play allows you to select two teams and play them.
Statistics are not saved. League play allows you to select a
league and to play out the schedule. Player statistics are saved
to a database. Reports and player information can be accessed via
the external management tools that can be downloaded via this
site.
